Software Sales Representative

Panoply’s Megaphone platform is looking for a Sales Representative to work in the fun and fast-paced new media environment of podcasting. The Sales Representative will work closely with Panoply’s product, business development, engineering, sales, marketing, and ad operations teams to drive inventory growth for its best-in-class platform Megaphone, and the recently-announced Megaphone Targeted Marketplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source new sales opportunities for the Megaphone platform through inbound lead follow-up, outbound cold calls and emails to independent podcast producers and mid-size podcast networks
  • Understand the technology and business of podcasting
  • Be an expert on how the Megaphone platform meets the needs and requirements of professional podcast companies and “prosumer” podcasters alike
  • Perform effective online demos to podcasters
  • Develop and close qualified opportunities to achieve quarterly revenue and download quotas
  • Research potential podcasts, identify key players and generate interest
  • Maintain and expand database of prospects
  • Team with channel partners to build pipeline and close deals
  • Oversee post-sale onboarding with Megaphone’s Technical Account Managers

Requirements and attributes of the ideal candidate:

  • 1-3 years’ experience in technology sales, with a proven track record of exceeding revenue goals
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, including phone presence and experience engaging in dozens of calls per day
  • Strong listening and presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university (or equivalent)
  • Advertising technology background is a plus, but not required
  • In-depth knowledge of podcast ad-serving platforms a plus
  • Established relationships with podcast producers a plus
